“After ten years in the Village, Jan and I consider that it is the best choice we made.”

Having only 20 units, the Village is small for a retirement village.

The outlook is good with country vista from our windows.

The Village has a recreation room and library for us and many events are attended by us all.

The residents are all very nice people and the Village enjoys all the events.

After ten years in the Village, Jan and I consider that it is the best choice we made.

The feeling of security and the town make it a most desirable location.

“I cannot speak highly enough of the standard of these two villages…”

I have been a tenant at both of the Whangarei Masonic villages for a number of years – first at Lupton Village when my husband was alive and presently at Maunu.

I cannot speak highly enough of the standard of these two villages – in all respects.

Always nice friendly neighbours, a good community spirit and of course the use of the community hall at the Maunu village.

Both villages are set in lovely grounds – now I am at Maunu it is like living in a park! The units are kept to a very good standard.

I would also like to mention the prompt, courteous & caring response to calls for any maintenance required.

Another plus is that there is a bus stop right outside each village.

I feel very privileged to live here.

“I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.”

I have been a resident in the Masonic Village in Wellsford for almost 24 years and have always felt fortunate to be able to do so.

We have a very friendly group of people here and a social club where we play cards, scrabble etc, one day each week.  We also go on outings which are always interesting and enjoyable.

The grounds are well kept as are the units.  The place has a country feel to it.

I would be happy to recommend it to anyone.

“In short, we recommend the village to anyone who is seeking an independent, relaxed retirement location.”

Moving to the Wellsford Masonic Village some 3 years ago was a great choice. We find the village is large enough to give us privacy when we choose, but is small enough to be friendly and caring.

We enjoy an active social club, taking part in our weekly games afternoons, regular outings and we make good use of the residents-maintained library.

Location is great – close enough to walk to shops, the new town library and the excellent medical facilities, yet we are almost in the country and enjoy wide rural views.

Maintenance of the grounds is kept to a high standard and we have found management to be responsive to requests or suggestions we have made.

Wellsford is a great place to live; In short, we recommend the village to anyone who is seeking an independent,  relaxed retirement location.

“Just what we envisioned in our latter years.”

Having lived in Lupton Village for eleven years, we can honestly say that it is the best move we ever made.

Unit size is great and well designed.

Grounds are maintained but with the freedom to garden if we wish.

Just what we envisioned in our latter years.

Contact with office personnel with any queries such as the maintenance of the Unit has been met with consideration.

“Our village has a special atmosphere…”

I take this opportunity to thank the Trust for providing the environment (Masonic Village) in which I live. Our village has a special atmosphere even though no community hall or centre is provided.

If there are any concerns they must be amicably settled for I am not aware of any echoing through the village.

I enjoy my unit including sharing it from time to time at meal times, for I enjoy cooking and sharing the results. I also enjoy gardening and sharing the results.

Thank you Northland District Masonic Trust for providing and managing our village.

Nancy, Whangarei

“The Trust was very helpful all the time we lived there…”

I have had the pleasure of living in two Masonic units.  One was a brand new unit in Dargaville which we bought.

It was a lovely appointed unit and great neighbours.  The Trust was very helpful all the time we lived there, which was three years plus.

When my husband died and I needed to come home to Whangarei where my family are, the Trust made sure that I was well settled in another unit.

While this was much older, it is well appointed and comfortable.

Here I also have good neighbours and service from the Masonic Trust.

“We love living here in our friendly village community…”

We love living here in our friendly village community with people who care about each other without invading privacy.

Our brick unit is modern and well maintained by the Trust.

Well insulated therefore warm in winter but cool in summer.

The grounds surrounding our village are mown regularly which leaves little for us to worry about and we each have our own garden to tend to.

After all we all need some exercise to do.
